But it wasn't just that song that captured many fans' hearts, the whole album had songs which told of her heartache over a lost love and as in her other hit track 'Rolling in the Deep' that love affair turned into 'treasure gold' when this album sold 31 million copies.

tThe British public was demanding the song come out as a single and it was released. So I was quite late to the party when I watched her sing 'Someone Like You' on the Brit Awards where she simply stole the show. I was not impressed with her debut album 19, I didn't like the 'lazy' singers that where in fashion at the time the Lily Allens', the Kate Nashes, for me they sound like young girls getting drunkardly up at karaoke, and Adele's first album had her singing in such a manner.

I think we can all now say that Adele is on the top of most known modern singer in modern British musical history - even if you are not a huge fan of her music or genre, you will still of heard songs by her, even if covered by other artists.
